Sobha John produced before court

KOCHI: Sobha John, the first accused in the case in which Sabarimala tantri Kandararu Mohanaru was blackmailed, was presented before the Ernakulam First Additional Assistant Sessions Court on Saturday.The Assistant Sessions Judge E C Harigovindan issued summons to all accused, including Sobha John, who have to appear before the court on October 27.There are 11 accused in the chargesheet filed by the Ernakulam Central police. The fifth accused Ashif of Kasargod is still absconding.According to the prosecution, the accused had hatched a conspiracy and threatened the tantri   pointing a gun against him at the Link Laxman Flat in Kochi and seized his ornaments in 2006.The court also sought an explanation from the superintendent of the central jail in Viyyur for failing to produce co-accused Keppa Anil and Bachu Rahman before the court on Saturday.
