Ten killed in a major fire in Jammu's Ramban district
The exact cause of fire is being ascertained but the initially report suggests that it happened due to an electrical short circuit.

Jammu: Ten people - working on a Nashri tunnel project - were killed while three suffered severe burn injuries in a massive fire in Ramban district of Jammu region on Friday.

The fire broke out in Chanderkote camp where workers and technical staffs were staying. Preliminary inquiry revealed that most of them died due to asphyxiation and burn injuries.

"The exact cause of fire is yet to be known but it seems that it happened due to an electrical short circuit," said, Senior Superintendent of Police Randip Kumar.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah expressed his condolences to the victim's family members. "A very tragic accident, my condolences to the families of the deceased," he tweeted.
