Tirangaa inter-school competition

HYDERABAD: ‘Tirangaa’ is an annual inter-school event held across all Pearson schools pan India in lieu of Independence day. The Hillside Academy in Hyderabad conducted the event with Rabindranath Tagore as their theme, commemorating his 150th birth anniversary.Said the principal, Pratima Sinha, “It is our way of awakening the young minds to appreciate and take forward the great work and contribution of Tagore to the Indian society at large. We couldn’t think of a better platform than an inter-school competition.”Events like painting , collage making, storyboard, essay writing , fusion of Rabindra Sangeet and dance ballet were conducted. Children between the age group of five to 14 years were invited to participate.Adding that events like this reiterates the significance of independent India, Sinha said, “This also teaches students to work together as a team and encourages them to meet and interact with each others, share and establish rapports. It also gives them a broader perspective on things, thereby building a healthy competitive spirit.”
