CHENNAI: Central Crime Branch sleuths on Friday arrested Kollywood actor Mansur Ali Khan on charges of land grab in Arumbakkam worth Rs 1 crore. Police said he was held at his residence in Nungambakkam following a complaint from V Duraivelu, who claimed that he owned the land. According to Duraivelu, the actor had illegally acquired real estate at Thirukumarapuram in Arumbakkam. He also alleged that Khan threatened him when he objected to the encroachment. Khan has reportedly constructed a 16-storey apartment complex in the land and rented it out.According to the complaint, Duraivelu (66) purchased the 1247 square feet land for Rs 2.60 lakh from its previous owner Ramakrishnan in 1994 and had it registered. Police said the property’s current value stands at Rs 1 crore.
