A group of traders were allegedly beaten up activists of the outlawed People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) injuring three of them seriously in a weekly market in the Naxal-affected Khunti district.
Laced with fire-arms, around ten PLFI activists including three in uniform, arrived in the weekly market at Gullu under Murhu police station and started beating up the traders, police said.
Three of the traders identified as Janmanjay Bhagat, Dilip Kumar and Shashi Saw sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors referred them to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences at Ranchi.
Superintendent of Police Anish Gupta told reporters the motive behind the incident was to create terror among the people to maintain PLFI's supremacy in the area.
