Two sentenced for life in kidnapping, rape case

Two persons have been sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court for kidnapping and raping a girl six years ago.

Special Additional District and Sessions Judge (SC/ST act) S.P Arvind also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on Pradip Verma and Raja on Thursday.

The two had kidnapped the girl while she was on her way to an agriculture field on July 8, 2008 and had raped her for days before she was rescued by the police.

On the complaint filed by the father of the victim, an FIR was filed against the two.
