But now a man claiming to be the owner of the land has come forward alleging that the district administration gave his land to the orphaned children.

Pratapgarh: In yet another case of insensitivity from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, the five orphan children who were living near the graves of their parents, who had died after contracting AIDS, the state administration reportedly provided them a piece of disputed land.

The children had been provided a 250 square metre piece of land after media highlighted that they had been abandoned and ostracised by the villagers.

But now a man claiming to be the owner of the land has come forward alleging that the district administration gave his land to the orphaned children.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has also promised them a house and Rs 5 lakh as financial assistance. The children were until now living near the graves of their parents after their relatives deserted them for the fear of contracting AIDS.
