Kolkata: A first year college student from Bihar was found dead near railway tracks at the Uluberia station in Howrah, West Bengal on Sunday. The student was allegedly being ragged and beaten by some seniors in his college.

The victim's father claimed that he was murdered and the body was thrown on railway tracks but the youth's classmates said he killed himself.

The college authorities initially denied there was any ragging but later suspended five seniors who were named by victim's friends as his tormenters.

Police have arrested four students on the charges of ragging and abetment to suicide.
