Will look into hotel shooting: City police chief

CHENNAI: City police commissioner J K Tripathy on Tuesday said he would look into the shooting incident that allegedly took place at a hotel on Dr Radhakrishnan Salai in February. The incident involved a VIP’s relative, who reportedly opened fire at a security guard at the hotel when he was pulled up for parking his vehicle inside the premises and going out. Claiming that he was not aware of the incident, the senior police official said he would take appropriate action after studying the case. Asked about the Mambalam double murder case, which still remained unsolved, he said the investigating team had got some vital clues and was pursuing them. On the alleged kidnap of a baby boy in Chintadripet, the CoP said the Joint Commissioner (Central Zone) was investigating the case. He said the special cell of the Central Crime Branch had received 90 complaints of land grabbing and they were being probed. Actor Vijayalakshmi’s complaint against director Seeman was also under investigation.
