In a shocking incident in Nagpur, a woman, along with two of her friends, was arrested for allegedly killing a 28-year-old man late Saturday night. Police said that the incident occurred after the man was accused of staring at her while she was smoking a cigarette at a pan shop.

According to a report in The Times of India, the altercation began when the woman, Jayashree Pandhare, felt offended by the stares of Ranjit Rathod, a father of four daughters, who was also present at the shop to buy cigarettes. The incident took place on Manewada Cement Road in Nagpur.

Rathod allegedly recorded a video on his phone showing Jayashree blowing smoke circles towards him and verbally abusing him. The video also captured Rathod retaliating and exchanging insults with Jayashree, who was accompanied by her friend Savita Sayare.

Enraged after the altercation, Jayashree called her friends Akash Raut and Jeetu Jadhav to confront Rathod, who had left for home at Dnyaneshwar Nagar after the dispute. However, he made a stop to have a beer at Mahalaxmi Nagar, where they approached him. The situation quickly escalated, resulting in Rathod being fatally stabbed.

The CCTV footage of the crime shows Jayashree repeatedly stabbing Rathod with a knife before fleeing the scene with her friends to Dattawadi and later to Mohopa in Kalmeshwar, the publication reported.

Speaking to TOI, Senior Inspector Kailash Deshmane confirmed that Jayashree, along with her friends Savita and Akash, has been arrested. He said the investigation is still ongoing, and mentioned that evidence from Rathod’s phone and the CCTV footage are important for the case.

Additionally, during the investigation in Dattawadi, the police found various objectionable materials, including drug-related photographs on the phone of one of the accused.
