BANGALORE: Karnataka High Court on Thursday disposed of the writ petitions challenging the State Government’s move to denotify 3.26 acres of land that was acquired for BTM VI Phase after the government withdrew the denotification.The State Government had denotified 3.26 acres of land in Survey Numbers 79 and 80/1 of Arakere village which was acquired for BTM VI Phase in 1990 though Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) had formed the layout and allotted sites. The government had issued preliminary notification in 1987 and final notificaction for acquiring the land in 1990.The compensation for the same was disbursed in 1993 and the sites were allotted to different people in 1994. The BDA had also given the titled deeds to the allottes. The State Government denotified the land on September 22, 2010 in the favor of the original land owner Krishnappa.C Subramanya, who had brought one of the sites in the layout and others, had filed writ petitions challenging the denotification.Justice B V Nagarathana disposed of the writ petitions after the State Government submitted that the said denotification was withdrawn on June 13, 2011 as the purpose of the writ petition was already served.
