NCT’s Jaehyun might secure a leading role in the upcoming K-drama I Believe You, a series that deals with the power dynamics between the marginalised and the affluent sections of society. While not officially confirmed, Jaehyun is a strong contender for the role, portraying a character who stands up against oppression. The production team is enthusiastic about Jaehyun potentially taking on the role, believing his abilities are well-suited. Drama I Believe You promises to be a story of transformation and resilience, where characters facing adversity discover their inner strength. Jaehyun is being considered for the role of Soo Il Nam, a character deeply impacted by the trauma of school violence, reports OSEN.

The drama is produced by Mace Entertainment, known for their work on Netflix’s The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, starring Ju Ji Hoon and Choo Young Woo. Filming is scheduled to start in the first half of 2024, with broadcast details yet to be finalised, heightening anticipation for the series.

Jaehyun made his acting debut in 2022 with Dear M, a 12-episode college romance series. He starred alongside Park Hye Su, Roh Jeong Eui, Bae Hyun Sung, Woo Da Vi, and Lee Jin Hyuk. Additionally, Jaehyun is also set to play a significant role in the upcoming movie You Will Die In 6 Hours.

Debuting as a member of NCT in 2016, Jaehyun has been an integral part of the sub-unit NCT 127. He is also a member of the new sub-unit NCT DoJaeJung, along with Doyoung and Jungwoo. Their first album, Perfume, was released in 2023. Jaehyun has also participated in NCT 127’s full group comeback, releasing the album Fact Check in 2023. Furthermore, he has previously released two solo songs as part of the NCT Lab project, titled Forever Only and Horizon.

Apart from Jaehyuj, OSEN reported on February 29th that actor Lee Chaemin has also been offered the lead role in I Believe in You and is considering the offer positively. In the drama, Lee Chaemin would play Yang Seojun, the leader of a group of high school bullies. His character comes from a wealthy family and is described as having good looks, sharp wit, and a bright mind. However, he lacks empathy and often torments his friends, leading to unexpected events.

If the two actors accept the respective roles, they’ll play the two leads, against each other in I Believe in You.
