How To Prepare Ankita Lokhande's Famous Green Chilli Halwa
At Laughter Chefs Unlimited, Ankita Lokhande made a green chilli halwa recipe which has left many stunned.

The internet has seen various food experiments, from pineapple on pizza to chocolate khichadi. The recent one to join the bizarre food trend is green chilli halwa. The recipe was aired on Colors TV’s show Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment. This particular recipe was made to please Chef Harpal. However, what is mind-boggling is that pepper is hot, so how can it be added to a dessert, which is supposed to be sweet?

Laughter Chefs Unlimited is a celebrity cooking show where stars like Karan Kundra, Krushna Abhishek, Nia Sharma, Jannat Zubair, Arjun Bijlani, Aly Goni and others have appeared. The stars’ dishes are then judged by Harpal Singh Sokhi. In a recent episode, Ankita Lokhande appeared on the show and made Hari Mirch (Green Chilli) Ka Halwa.

What are the ingredients you will need to make this preparation?

You will need 5 g of light green chillies, which are comparatively less hot, Fitkari (small alum), 3-5 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of semolina, half a cup of khoya or mawa and half a teaspoon of green cardamom powder.

Recipe –

– The first step is to slit the green pepper in half and deseed it. Chilli seeds have the most heat, so make sure you remove them completely.

– While making mirchi ka Halwa, make sure to always wear gloves, to not irritate the hand.

– Boil the green chillies in water. Here is a little secret ingredient that you must add to this. Cook the chillies in Alum water. Alum will reduce the spiciness of the chilli.

– Cook the chillies in this Alum water for about 2 to 3 minutes. You will see that the colour of the green chillies will change, and the pungent taste of it will also disappear. However, the digestive properties within the chillies will remain intact.

– When the chillies are boiled, take them out and let them cool down. Then grind them in a mixer. Make sure to keep it coarse instead of making it into a fine paste.

– Take a pan and add 2 tablespoons of ghee to it. Add the coarse chilli paste and fry it well for 2 to 3 minutes as soon as the ghee melts.

– Add semolina and fry for two minutes. Add the sugar to the Halwa and stir it properly. Reduce the heat while adding the sugar. Make sure you melt the sugar but don’t end up caramelising it.

-The last step is to add Mawa or Khoya to the Halwa. Stir and then add green cardamom powder.

Your unique halwa is ready to be served!

Green chilli Halwa is excellent for the body, according to Ayurveda. It opens the sinuses and even if your nose is blocked or you have a headache, this Halwa will benefit you a lot. It also gives a boost to the digestion process.
