Planning To Get Married? Astrologer Points At Lack Of Favourable Dates Until November 2024
Pandit Ghanshyam Sharma emphasises that an exception can be made for Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya Akhatij on May 10, 2024, due to the presence of Abujh Muhurat.

In May and June 2024, astrological predictions suggest a lack of auspicious occasions for marriages. Following these months, until the commencement of Chaturmas — a sacred four-month monsoon period — there’s no favourable time for marriages due to the weakened positions of Jupiter and Venus in the astrological chart.

Pandit Ghanshyam Sharma, speaking to News 18 Hindi, explained that only four occasions have been deemed suitable for marriages during this period. These occasions include Vasant Panchami, Akha Teej (Akshaya Tritiya), Peepal Purnima, Bhadli Navami, and Devuthani Ekadashi, all characterised by Abujh Muhurat — a time when initiating any activity poses no risk of losses or failure.

The astrological alignment reveals that the star of Venus will experience a period of weakness from Vaishakh Krishna Chaturthi on April 28, 2024, to Ashadhs Krishna Amavasya on July 5, 2024. Simultaneously, Jupiter’s star is expected to be in a weakened position from Vaishakh Krishna Chaturdashi on May 7, 2024, to Jyeshtha Krishna Ashtami on May 31, 2024. Consequently, auspicious activities, including marriage ceremonies, are discouraged during this period.

However, Pandit Ghanshyam Sharma emphasises that an exception can be made for Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya Akhatij on May 10, 2024, due to the presence of Abujh Muhurat. Similarly, Peepal Purnima on May 23 and Bhadli Navami on July 15 are deemed auspicious for marriages.

Akha Teej, also known as Akshaya Tritiya, is considered a highly auspicious occasion as both the Sun and the Moon are in their most radiant phase. It is believed that on this day, the Sun enters Aries and the Moon is positioned in the house of Taurus.

Akha Teej is characterised by an Abujh Muhurat, making it suitable not only for marriages but also for initiating other ventures, buying property, or acquiring gold without concerns of harm. This day is associated with prosperity and good fortune.

However, Ghanshyam Sharma warns that from Devshayani Ekadashi onwards, starting on July 17, 2024, and extending for four months until November 12, 2024, will be an inauspicious period for various activities, including marriages.
