The actor appeared in several commercials and campaigns as a testament to his love for the club. Currently, Arsenal is at the top of the table with one game left. Cheering for the team, the actor’s wife, Deepika Padukone immediately posted a story on her Instagram handle.
Deepika Padukone kicked off her week with a football story. On Monday, she posted a story featuring a newspaper article with the headline ‘Arsenal Slip Back On Top.’ She accompanied the story with the hashtag Gunner and even tagged Ranveer Singh. For those uninitiated, Gunner is the nickname for the Arsenal.
The title race for the Premier League 2023-24 is near its end. The Gunners secured the position on the top of the table after defeating Manchester 1-0. With the victory, Arsenal shattered several records for most wins in a Premier League season. Notably, Arsenal is expected to claim the title after 21 years. Even though the victory depends on Manchester City’s result for what lies ahead, Arsenal’s fan club is anticipating the watershed moment when the team wins the league.
As for Ranveer Singh, the actor has always been an ardent football lover. Earlier, during an Instagram Live chat session with Indian footballer Sunil Chhetri, the Bajirao Mastani actor elaborated on his love for the Reds revealing how he became a fanboy. He mentioned, “In the beginning, the year I had started watching the Premier League and Arsenal were playing the best football, so I immediately got attracted to it”.
Meanwhile, Deepika and Ranveer are geared up to embrace parenthood. The couple, after six years of marriage, will welcome their first baby in September 2024. Workwise, the Fighter actress is currently shooting for Singham Again in which she will be essaying the role of a ruthless police officer. Besides, she will also be a part of Kalki 2898 AD alongside Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan.
