Prabhas' recently released film Kalki 2898 AD also stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles.

Prabhas’ latest film has broken box office records and has been receiving humongous love and reviews from fans and critics alike. The Nag Ashwin directed film has collected Rs 27.85 Cr on its day 6 and recorded a very little drop especially since it is the weekday. The film has so far collected Rs 371 crore in India and aiming for Rs 400 crore by the end of the extended opening week.

Recently, Nag Ashwin took to his X handle to cheer for Prabhas and lauded his performance and presence of mind in making the film a success. The tweet dedicated to him read, “This man sitting casually there is the reason for all this, unbiasedly the biggest box office star of this era… He gave our production the confidence to do what we did, he gave me the freedom to do what I did… and so many intelligent inputs helped guide the film to what it is… everyone’s darling, our Bhairava and now the world’s K____.”

According to sacnilk.com, Kalki 2898 AD collected Rs 11.2 Cr from the Telugu version on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Tamil version minted Rs 1.2 Cr. The Hindi version collected Rs 14 Cr whereas the Malayalam version Rs 1.2 Crore. The film is doing impressive business worldwide as well.

Kalki 2898 AD is expected to show a growth this weekend. With the film having no competition in the Telugu industry and facing only Karan Johar-Guneet Monga’s Kill in Hindi, it is likely that the film will lure in audiences this weekend as well.

The Nag Ashwin film heavily draws inspiration from Mahabharat. Kalki 2898 AD is set in a dystopian future and revolves around four people — a pregnant woman named Sumathi (Deepika Padukone), who is said to be carrying a child that is the 10th avatar of Vishnu; the immortal Ashwatthama (played by Amitabh Bachchan) who has been tasked to protect the unborn child; a ruthless villain named Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan), who wants the child dead for he knows the child will be the end of the baddie; and Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter who would sell anyone in return of money.
