Kedarnath Box Office Day 4: Sara Ali Khan’s Film Clears Monday Test, Earns Rs 32 Crore in Total
Kedarnath is a love story of a Hindu girl and a Muslim porter set against the backdrop of the floods that devastated the temple town of Kedarnath in 2013.

Sara Ali Khan’s debut film Kedarnath is going steady at the box office. After opening to an average start, the Abhishek Kapoor directorial has managed to earn Rs 32 crore in four days.

Tweeting about the film’s box office performance, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Tuesday, “#Kedarnath passes the crucial Monday test... Remain rock-steady... Fri 7.25 cr, Sat 9.75 cr, Sun 10.75 cr, Mon 4.25 cr. Total: ₹ 32 cr. India biz.”

The film, which also stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role, is a love story of a Hindu girl (played by Sara) and a Muslim porter (Sushant) set against the backdrop of the floods that devastated the temple town of Kedarnath in 2013.

On day one, Kedarnath earned between Rs 7-7.25 crore nett, reported Box Office India. The film is facing tough competition from Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's 2.0, which has been doing exceptionally well at the box office for two weeks now.

Kedarnath received mixed reviews. CNN-News18 film critic Rajeev Masand rated the film 2.5/5. He wrote, "Kedarnath hits its stride when the metaphoric iceberg strikes. Or specifically, with the cloudburst, the floods, and the landslides. The filmmakers recreate some of those images to good effect. The effects are serviceable, but the emotions run high. It’s in these final 20 minutes or so that the film genuinely makes you ‘feel’. The awe, shock, horror, and heartbreak are well earned."
