John Cena also brought some cultural flair to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding, rocking not just a sherwani but also a turban! The WWE legend turned Hollywood star landed in Mumbai on Friday morning, dazzling on the red carpet in a blue sherwani. Cameras clicked away as Cena struck poses before heading inside. Once there, he patiently sat for the turban tying ceremony, a moment captured in an Instagram video.
Earlier in the day, John was seen at the private airport in Mumbai. He landed in Mumbai early Friday morning and greeted the paparazzi with a big wave. He then re-appeared at the wedding venue. He was seen striking his trademark pose for his days in WWE on the red carpet.
John is not the only international celebrity in town for the wedding. Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and singer Rema are also invited. Several Bollywood stars are also expected to attend the bash. These include Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Janhvi Kapoor, to name a few.
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani kicked off the wedding festivities for their son Anant Ambani and his fiancée Radhika Merchant with the Mameru ceremony at their residence, Antilia, in Mumbai last week. The couple’s grand wedding will take place on today. The first event is the Shubh Vivah or wedding function, with a dress code of Indian traditional. On July 13, the Shubh Aashirwad ceremony will follow, with a dress code of Indian formal. The celebrations will conclude on July 14 with the Mangal Utsav or wedding reception, where the dress code is Indian chic. All these events will be held at the Jio World Centre in BKC.
