Several actors and actresses are fortunate enough to get a taste of unimaginable success and fame with their debut releases. However, some of them leave the star-studded industry at the peak of their careers due to personal reasons or simply when their careers fail to take off. Something similar happened with one promising actress of the 90s, who left Bollywood in five years.
That actress went by the name of Chandni, who appeared with some of the biggest names in Bollywood like Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and more. With Salman Khan, Chandni appeared in the film Sanam Bewafa, which was released in 1991.
As per reports, while studying, Chandni came across an advertisement for a role in Sanam Bewafa with Salman Khan, who became an overnight sensation after Maine Pyar Kiya. So, she filled out the audition form and ended up securing the role of the film’s female lead. Sanam Bewafa went on to become the year’s second biggest release, only after Salman’s own Saajan.
Chandni got several roles after Sanam Bewafa but her career did not experience the success it deserved, like her debut film. So, according to more information, she decided to quit the film industry after five years. In those five years, Chandni appeared in a little over ten films.
In 1994, she tied the knot with Satish Sharma and moved to Florida, the USA. The reports state that she is a dance teacher focusing on Indian dance at the C Studios, in Orlando, Florida. She has also worked as an organiser at Hard Rock in Universal Studios and the House of Blues in Disney.
Released in 1991, Sanam Bewafa is directed by Saawan Kumar Tak who has also produced it under the banner of Saawan Kumar Tak Productions Pvt Ltd. The cast of the film includes Salman Khan, Chandni, Pran and Danny Denzongpa among others. The music in the film is done by Mahesh-Kishor.
Chandni also appeared in films like Jaan Se Pyaara, 1942: A Love Story and Mr Azaad.
