Amid several photos and video clips, one clip from the script reading went viral on social media, showing the entire cast in tears. This emotional moment has sparked curiosity among K-Drama fans about the series’ storyline and its potential for emotional depth.

“Oh wow they already getting emotional/crying in the script reading??? I’m not ready for the pain,” said a user.

Another viewer commented, “Actually most of them are sobbing, that particular scene is pretty emotional I guess.”

Noticing the cast’s reaction to each other, one viewer said, “not them laughing at each other’s crying face..cuties.”

After these clips grabbed fans’ attention online, the production team behind the series said, “Their first chemistry was so perfect that it was unbelievable. Everyone was endlessly laughing and crying on set that day. Please look forward to their work,” reports Koreaboo.

Midnight Studio is described as a healing romance that revolves around Seo Ki Joo, a photographer at Midnight Studio, a photo studio that operates only at night, catering to lost souls. Despite his ability to connect with ghosts, Seo Ki Joo struggles with insomnia, anxiety, and a life expectancy of only 35 years, due to a curse.

Han Bom, a once-successful lawyer facing financial difficulties, believes she can change Seo Ki Joo’s fate. Together, they take on a partnership that intertwines their lives and stories, alongside Assistant Manager Go and Baek Nam Koo, employees at the studio, according to Koreaboo.

While initial advertisements and trailers suggest a comedic tone, some netizens speculate that the series could delve into emotional territory similar to Tomorrow, given its focus on death and the male lead’s grim fate.

Midnight Studio is set to premiere on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 10 p.m. KST, with subsequent episodes airing every Monday and Tuesday.
