The much-awaited film The Greatest of All Time featuring Thalapathy Vijay is making headlines since the film is rumoured to be the actor’s second last film before his full-time entry into politics. Since the film’s release date has been confirmed, the fans and critics have been eagerly waiting for September 5. Adding to the excitement, the makers of the upcoming film dropped the first song Whistle Podu on Sunday, marking the occasion of the Tamil New Year.
The lyrical music video of Whistle Podu is inspired by the famous mantra of the IPL team, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). It has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and choreographed by Raju Sundaram. Apart from Vijay, the song also features Prabhudeva, Prashanth and Ajmal Ameer.
The four-minute and 47-second-long lyrical music video of Whistle Podu also pays homage to Venkat’s previous projects including Mankatha featuring Ajith. Apart from this, the behind-the-scenes footage from the song’s production can also be seen in the released video.
The peppy track from the film, The Greatest of All Time has amassed over 18 million views and 1.1 million likes on the official YouTube channel of T-Series. Additionally, it has garnered thousands of comments. Among several viewers, one wrote, “Treat to watch all 3 90’s heroes in 1 frame. My eyes were only on Prashanth️ what a comeback."
Another commented, “Prashant casually giving tough competition to two dancers." Another added, “Never seen Prashanth dance like this …Thalapathy …Lit as always!! GOAT team."
The Greatest of All Time or GOAT features Meenakshi Chaudhary, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren and Yugendran Vasudevan apart from Vijay.
As per recent reports, over 80 per cent of the film has been shot in Russia. It is also rumoured to be a story of time travel featuring Vijay in dual roles. According to the Indian Express report, it is speculated to be inspired by the Hollywood film Looper, however, there is no confirmation from the makers.
Apart from the stellar cast and plot speculations, the film has been garnering major attention because the actor Vijay announced leaving acting after two of his upcoming films.
