With the advent of OTT streaming platforms, we have numerous choices at our disposal for some relaxation and entertainment. So, what better than an acclaimed psychological thriller to keep you at the edge of your seat, or bed for that matter? It is titled Alone a 2020 release, which is sure to make your skin crawl with fear.

Alone is a delight to cinephiles who love challenging themselves to explore the dark sides of nature. The film revolves around a young woman named Jessica, a widow who is kidnapped by a murderer while travelling. To make things even more interesting, the film only features three characters, leading the project.

The film follows Jessica as she is captured by a killer named Sam and how she escapes his clutches, venturing into the wilderness. It explores the themes of survival, battling your demons and the ones in real life and the tough decisions one has to make to keep themselves alive. The journey in the wild takes her through the impossible paths of a forest, as she stays to keep herself afloat dealing with intense loneliness while the killer closes in with each passing moment. Spoiler alert, by the end, Jessica succeeds in ending the killer’s life, nearly dying herself in the process.

Alone is directed by John Hyams, while Mattias Olsson has penned the story. The cast includes Jules Willcox as Jessica, Marc Menchaca as Sam, along with Anthony Heald and Jonathan Rosenthal. It is produced by Jordan Foley, Jonathan Rosenthal, Mike Macari and Henrik JP Akesson under the banners of Mill House Motion Pictures, Paperclip Ltd and XYZ Films. Nima Fakhrara took care of the film’s music score while the cinematography was done by Federico Verardi. The editing was done by Scott Roon and John Hyams. It was released on September 18, 2020, an official remake of the 2011 Swedish film, Gone. Alone is available to stream on platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV.
