Ranbir Kapoor’s Wake Up Sid is one of the most cherished films. Fans are in love with his character Sid Mehra. And now recently a video surfaced with the film cast rehearsing. It immediately sparked rumours of a second installment among the audience. Well, looks like the news is true as Karan Johar today shared a video featuring Ranbir Kapoor and we can also hear Konkana Sen Sharma’s voice.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Karan shared a video in which we can Ranbir Kapoor sleeping when suddenly Konkana Sen Sharma screamed, “Sid, It’s Rishi Day” And the actor woke up. The video has gone viral and fans are seen dropping comments. One of the fans wrote, “It could be the ad for the actual sequel! Right? Right?” Another wrote, “This has to be good. Wake up sid was sooooo good.” Karan Johar captioned it as “Is this really happening? All I know is something exciting is brewing and I couldn’t have woken up to a better piece of news.”

On January 2, the viral video showed Ranbir and Konkana rehearsing a scene while the crew surrounded them. Ranbir was seen wearing a blue shirt with a pair of white pants while Konkana slipped into a white kurta with a blue dupatta and a pair of white pants.
Wake Up Sid was released in 2009. The film was one of Ranbir’s initial movies of his career and was one of his biggest hits. The coming-of-age film follows the journey of a spoilt brat who learns to live his life independently with the help of a journalist who has just moved to Mumbai. The film marked Ayan Mukerji’s first film.
Meanwhile, Ranbir and Konkana have had a memorable 2023. Ranbir had two hits — Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar with Shraddha Kapoor and Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Animal emerged as Ranbir’s biggest hit of his career. On the other hand, Konkana had everyone’s attention with Lust Stories 2. She directed the film The Mirror for the anthology film. The film starred Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash in the lead. Their performances were also praised.
