Akshay Kelkar has been working round the clock to make his name in the Marathi film industry. The actor has slowly started garnering a fanbase for himself. Recently, Akshay Kelkar achieved another milestone. He bought his first home in Mumbai. He shared the news on social media and expressed joy and gratitude. Akshay Kelkar wrote, “My first home – that too in Mumbai !!!! All the beautiful things happened in life in 2023, the most beautiful and most important thing is, my own “home” in Mumbai !!!” Akshay, then, went on to reminisce about his early struggles when he shared a room in an MHADA building with five people. He wrote, “When I started working in this field a few years ago, I was living on rent with 5 of my friends, sharing a room in the Mhada building. Applied for the same MHADA’s Mumbai project this year and was a winner in the release!”
Extending his heartfelt wishes, he added, “Heartfelt thanks to all the officers and staff of MHADA! You have been a great help while doing all this procedure and your positive approach is really appreciable. Home happiness doubled because of your company.”

Through his post, Akshay provided a glimpse into his new home and also shared a view from his window. For those unversed, the MHADA lottery system was established under the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority. It plays an important role when it comes to providing affordable housing to eligible candidates. It operates through a lottery and offers a low-cost house to individuals.
Earlier this year, Akshay Kelkar emerged as the winner of the fourth season of Bigg Boss, whereas Apoorva Nemalekar secured the second position. Akshay was presented with the esteemed Bigg Boss trophy. He also received prize money of Rs 15 lakh 55 thousand.
