In the film, Naga Chaitanya plays the role of Balaraju ‘Bala’ Bodi, who is Laal's colleague in the Indian Army and a good friend.

Naga Chaitanya Akkineni marked his Bollywood debut in 2022 with Laal Singh Chaddha alongside Aamir Khan. However, the film didn’t fare well at the box office. In a recent interview with a leading media outlet, the actor shared that he has no regrets about his involvement in the film. He further expressed that he would have taken on the role anyway and appreciated the valuable experiences gained from collaborating with Aamir Khan.

In a chat with India Today, the actor said: “If you want me to play a Dhootha and predict that the film (Laal Singh Chaddha) wouldn’t have worked, and (then ask me), will you do it? I would still do it because there is so much, I took away from that film and worked with Aamir sir. No regrets at all. I am so happy that I did it.”

The actor also asserted the importance of moving forward and not letting failures define one’s trajectory. He shared, “Honestly, life is full of ups and downs. It is important to introspect both your success and failure but never look back. Just move on.” He mentioned that he enjoys trying out different genres, which is why he feels satisfied with the chance Laal Singh Chaddha provided him.

Directed by Advait Chandan, the film narrates the story of Laal Singh Chaddha (Aamir Khan), a character with a low IQ who unwittingly shapes several significant historical moments. In the film, Naga Chaitanya plays the role of Balaraju ‘Bala’ Bodi, who is Laal’s colleague in the Indian Army and a good friend. The film also features Kareena Kapoor Khan in a pivotal role, marking the reunion of the iconic pair on the big screen after their previous collaborations in films like 3 Idiots and Talaash.

Naga Chaitanya has stepped into the world of OTT with the thrilling series Dhootha. In this eight-episode show, he takes on the role of Sagar, an ambitious journalist caught in supernatural events tied to mysterious deaths. The series also features Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Prachi Desai in pivotal roles. He will be next seen in Director Chandoo Mondeti’s upcoming film Thandel alongside Sai Pallavi. The actor is also set to join forces with Shiva Nirvana for an upcoming family drama. The project details are still under wraps.
