The trailer of Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan starrer Shaitaan is finally out. It was released on Thursday at an event in Mumbai which was also attended by the two actors. Shaitaan is an edge-of-the-seat supernatural thriller and presents Ajay and R Madhavan in their intense avatars. However, even before the Shaitaan hits the screens, its sequel has been announced.
“40 din mein shoot hui hai. Part 2 bhi hamaare dimaag mein taiyaar hai (We shot in 40 days. Part 2 is also ready in our minds),” Kumar Mangat Pathak, the film’s producer said at the trailer launch event.
The trailer of the film reveals that R Madhavan has taken charge of Ajay Devgn’s daughter. Madhavan calls Devgn’s daughter his ‘katputli’ and declares himself as ‘bhagwaan’. The trailer features several spine-chilling visuals of the devil’s symbols and motifs. It also stars Ajay Devgn and Jyothika as they unravel the mystery and fight for their daughter’s freedom.
Speaking about why Ajay signed the film, he said, “I heard the script and loved it.” He further added, “Kaafi time se horror genre ki film karni thi. Bhoot ki thi. (I wanted to be a part of a horror film for a long time. I did Bhoot in the past).”
Ajay Devgn announced Shaitaan earlier this year. The film is presented by Jio Studios, Devgn Films and Panorama Studios. It is being produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak and directed by Vikas Bahl.
Shaitaan marks Jyotika’s first Bollywood film in 25 years. She made her acting debut with Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, in Hindi, back in 1997. She then explored the Tamil film industry and made a mark for herself in the South. She returned to Bollywood in 2001 for the bilingual film Little John. The film is set to hit theatres on March 8, 2024.
