Jailer, starring Rajinikanth, has become a blockbuster success with a worldwide collection of Rs 601.6 crore and a net collection of Rs 343.72 crore in India.

Rajinikanth starrer Jailer has broken several records at the box office by collecting more than Rs 600 crores worldwide. It has become one of the highest grossing Tamil films ever and also earned Rajinikanth the title of the highest-paid actor in Indian cinema. Recently, the cast and crew of Jailer gathered to celebrate the success of the movie.

During his speech at the success meet, as per a report by Galatta.com, Rajinikanth said that he felt Jailer was “average”. “I watched Jailer final cut before re-recording. I felt it was average then, but it was Anirudh who lifted up the film with his background score,” the actor reportedly said.

A few days back, Jailer producer Kalanithi Maran met Rajinikanth and handed over a hefty cheque to the actor. Interestingly, film trade expert Manobala Vijayabalan shared on X: “Info coming in that, the envelope handed over by Kalanithi Maran to superstar Rajinikanth contains a single cheque amounting Rs 100 crore from City Union Bank, Mandaveli branch, Chennai. This is a Jailer profit sharing cheque which is up and above the already paid remuneration [Rs 110 cr] of superstar for the movie. Total – Rs 210 crore. Making superstar Rajinikanth the highest paid actor in India.” (sic)

Jailer, released on August 10, collected a jaw-dropping Rs 500 crore worldwide within just 10 days. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has done phenomenal business in India and overseas.

It was reported that the digital streaming rights for Jailer have been secured by Kalanithi Maran’s production house, Sun Pictures, in collaboration with Netflix. The movie is set to be available for streaming on the Sun NXT platform. Furthermore, Sun Network has secured satellite rights for Jailer in its Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam versions.
