Shah Rukh Khan Fans Demand Ra.One Sequel As Anubhav Sinha Drops Throwback Photo | Check Here
Anubhav Sinha celebrated 12 years of Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal starrer Ra.One with a BTS picture.

Back in 2011, Shah Rukh Khan’s highly anticipated sci-fi film Ra.One bombed at the box office, once it released. The film which was high on VFX, failed to intrigue the audiences at the theatres. However, the movie continues to enjoy a dedicated fan base till this day. As Ra.One completed twelve years, Anubhav Sinha celebrated it with a rare BTS picture from the sets.

Taking to his Instagram handle on Thursday, Anubhav Sinha shared a snap from the shooting of Ra.One. In the snap, one can spot Anubhav Sinha and SRK standing beside each other. Shah Rukh Khan was in the G.One avatar and had a harness around him. On the other hand, Anubhav Sinha had his hands in the pocket and seemed in a pensive mood. The film-maker also penned the caption, “Been twelve years today. Learned so much from this experience. It continues to pay in many ways till date. #Ra.One.”

Several fans dropped interesting memories in the comment section, others also demanded the film-maker to make Ra.One 2. A fan wrote, “I still have the mini G.One figure I got at McDonald’s with the happy meal. So many sweet memories growing up .” Another one commented, “Loved it, songs…. Dialogues, your direction, especially Shahrukh sir.” Someone else said, “I very much believe that #Ra.One was ahead of its time. Would love to see it’s sequel someday.” A fan also stated,”Anubhav sirji, Ra.One 2 leke aao naaa♥.”

Anubhav Sinha, who helmed Ra.One starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor spoke about the same earlier this year. While speaking with DNA, he shared that, “I am a big believer of how long a film lives determines its legacy. The fact that a film that was so harshly judged and criticised 12 years back lives on online with people calling it ahead of its time speaks volumes. Then, that is the film’s success and it gives me a lot of happiness.”

When asked if Ra.One was too harshly judged back then, the filmmaker said, “It’s not for me to say this because I would always find criticism harsher. But if someone not involved with the film says it was harsh, I would obviously latch on to that.”

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Ra.One also starred Arjun Rampal as the supervillain in the film. Despite the film earning over 100 crores at the box office, it was declared a failure due to its over-the-top production costs.
