Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti has come out in support of Ankita Lokhande. On Tuesday, SSR’s sister took to her Instagram stories and shared throwback pictures of herself with the Pavitra Rishta actress. She also penned down her support for Ankita and wrote, “We love you, Anki! You are the best and the purest.”
This comes at a time when Ankita Lokhande is being questioned by a section of social media users for allegedly using the late actor’s name to gain sympathy. Recently, Ankita’s mother, Vandana Lokhande, also defended her daughter when she told India Today, “It is not a strategy or way to gain sympathy. They have been together for eight years and she has lived that journey with him. Even when they broke up, she has always thought well of him and how it was his way to move ahead in his career. And when he passed away, she was completely broken as they had that kind of bond.”
In another interview, Ankita’s mom revealed that SSR’s family members are still in touch with the actress.
Previously, Ankita’s mother-in-law accused the actress of using Sushant’s name to gain sympathy for herself. “Ankita has been naming Sushant. Looks like she is trying to gain sympathy for herself. Sushant is anyway gone,” Vicky Jain’s mother told Saas Bahu Aur Saajish.
For the unversed, Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput made their acting debut together with Pavitra Rishta when they fell in love with each other. The two dated for seven years before they broke up. Sushant was found dead in his Mumbai apartment in June 2020.
Ankita is often seen talking about Sushant on Bigg Boss 17. In one of the previous episodes, the actress recalled Sushant’s death and told Munawar, “When I saw him, I felt everything was over. So many films he watched, and everything was over. There was this one picture of him which was very bad.”
