The Bar Council of India (BCI) has extended the online registration process for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XVIII (18) 2023. The last date to apply for the AIBE 18 was September 30 but now it has been extended to October 9. Candidates can apply for the AIBE 18 by visiting the official website of the BCI at allindiabarexamination.com. The last day for fee payment is October 10.
“Dear Candidate (s), It is hereby notified that online registration for AIBE- XVIII has been extended till 9th Oct 2023 and the last date for payment of online registration for AIBE-XVIII extended till 10th Oct 2023,” reads the notice on the official website.
The online application process for the AIBE 18 exam began on August 16. According to the schedule, the BCI will release the admit cards on October 20. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on October 29.
AIBE 18: Steps To Apply
Step 1: Visit the official portal of All India Bar Examination at allindiabarexamination.com.
Step 2: On the homepage, look for and click on the ‘AIBE 18 registration’ link.
Step 3: As a new page opens, enter the required details and log in.
Step 4: Then fill out the AIBE 18 registration form by entering all the necessary details.
Step 5: Upload the essential documents (like passport-size photo, candidate’s signature, and other related certificates).
Step 6: Once the documents are uploaded, pay the examination fee via an online method (such as debit card, credit card, or UPI.)
Step 7: Cross-check all the details before submitting the AIBE 18 form.
This year, the Council raised the pass percentage for general category candidates from 40 per cent to 45 per cent. While, the pass percentage for applicants from the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) is 40 per cent. Previously, the pass percentage for all reserved categories was 35 per cent.
According to the AIBE 18 exam structure, applicants must answer 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) in 3 hours and 30 minutes. In addition, candidate must also record their chosen responses on the given OMR form. The exam is conducted by the council for awarding eligible candidates the Certificate of Practice (COP) for practising law in an Indian court.
