Biharis celebrate Chhath with religious fervour across India

Chhath is being celebrated by thousands of devotees across Bihar, Jharkhand as well as other parts of the country. The four-day festival, wherein prayers are offered to Sun and Chhati Maiya, is a grand one for those who hail from Bihar.

While it starts with Kharna, prayers are offered by the devotees on banks of rivers on the evening of the third day and the morning of the fourth day. The timings of the prayers on river banks depend on the time of sunset and sunrise.
