Ponytails with a bow
Ponytails are practical and give a sleek party look. Ensure you put a lot of hair gel to make it smooth before sweeping it back and securing it on the crown. It’s Christmas so finish it off with an elegant red velvet ribbon. If celebrating a green Christmas this year, don’t spend on expensive Christmas hair accessories, instead grab a bow from a gift pack.
Half up- with satin band
Blowdry the hair and create soft waves with your hair curling tong. “Create a parting from the front, backcomb the hair around the crown area and gather all the hair at the back and use bobby pins to secure it. Accessorize it with a satin ribbon. You can use the satin ribbon as a headband and form a bow near the ears or you can wrap the satin around the ponytail to hide the bobby pins,” says Vaishakhi Haria, Hairstylist & Salon Director of Splash Salon & Very V salon.
Textured bun with satin accessory
This one is the easiest. Gather all the hair at the back and create a ponytail. Attach a satin band to the ponytail and braid the hair. Once the hair is braided, loosen it up a bit and wrap it around the ponytail and secure it with bobby pins.
To add some extra Christmas effect, you can sprinkle some glitter around the buns.
Use a fancy hair clip
Turn heads with a swept-over and pinned back style. Create a deep side parting using a tail comb then pull one side back behind your ear securing it with a metallic slide or bejeweled clip or just a pearl clip.

Braid with floral accessories
“After a nice clean blowdry, section the hair and create a loose classic braid. once the braid is complete, you can slightly loosen it up to show visible volume and make the hair look fuller. Accessorize the braid with baby-breath or gypsy flowers. It gives a cute yet elegant look to the entire braid,” adds Haria. Also, twin braids fastened into a ponytail screams Christmas but you can pile on the festive feels with beautiful accessories like hair rings or fake cherries.
