WWE SmackDown’s latest episode on March 1 was jampacked with wrestling action as the company prepares for its mega event WrestleMania 40. The episode was aired live from the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
The show saw the Bloodline return to the weekly live event as Roman Reigns and The Rock addressed the WWE universe. The promo was followed by women’s action as Tiffany Straton competed against Naomi. Later on the show, the fans witnessed Carlito and Santos Escobar lock horns in a Street Fight. Finally, in the main event, the Viper Randy Orton faced Austin Theory in one-on-one action.
These are the results of all the fights on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown:
Tiffany Stratton vs Naomi
The match begins with the two women locking up, followed by Stratton delivering a shoulder tackle. She lands a handspring back elbow in the corner before following it up with a double stomp. Naomi recovers and then connects with a backbreaker. Stratton finds a time when she rakes Naomi’s eyes without the referee noticing, before sending her into the ring post. Stratton then finishes off her opponent with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
The Kabuki Warriors vs Bayley and Dakota Kai
Sane starts the action by delivering a dropkick to Bayley. Next, Asuka enters the play, going after Bayley with a series of kicks. Sane makes the tag and then starts hitting Bayley’s head repeatedly onto the mat. Asuka tags in and sends Bayley straight into Sane. Later in the match, Bayley gets irritated as she goes ringside to attack Kai, leading to a beatdown from Damage CTRL. The match was then presumably declared to be a no-contest.
Bron Breakker vs. Xyon Quinn
The match sees an early end after Breakker lands a spear on Quinn right out of the gate for a pinfall victory.
Santos Escobar vs. Carlito – Street Fight
The duo wastes no time as the match begins with the two firing off right hands. After exchanging blows, Carlito delivers a swinging neckbreaker to Escobar on a chair. Escobar recovers and sneaks up on Carlito to land an enzuigiri. All of a sudden Rey Mysterio’s music hits as the wrestler makes his way down the ramp and stares at Escobar. He gets involved in the action, delivering a 619 to Escobar before Carlito sends his opponent through a table for a win.
Austin Theory vs. Randy Orton
As the bell rings, Theory tries to take down Orton early with a boot to the midsection which gets countered into an uppercut. After a break we see, Theory land a blockbuster on Orton. The Viper then brings back the momentum in his favour, as he delivers a vintage hanging DDT. Theory then escapes the RKO and tries to hit Orton with a rolling blockbuster. However, Orton counters with an RKO in mid-air to secure a win.
