Zuckerberg in Nature: See in Pics Meta Boss Reveal His 'Wild' Side at Vantara

Social media tycoon Mark Zuckerberg was visibly animated while touring Vantara, the expansive animal rescue and rehabilitation centre located in Jamnagar where he is attending the grand pre-wedding celebrations of Akash Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

While Anant Ambani is the younger son of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) CMD Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, his fiancee, Radhika Merchant, is the younger daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare. Anant serves as a director on the boards of RIL and Jio Platforms Ltd among some other group firms, and Vantara is his passion project.

After Anant Ambani extended a warm invitation for Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan to explore Vantara, the influential American businessman was seen in photos enjoying the company of some lemurs.

Spanning 3,000 acres within the Green Belt of Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery Complex in Gujarat, Vantara marks the first-of-its-kind effort in India.

Within the premises, a rescue and rehabilitation centre spanning more than 650 acres has been established. In recent years, the programme has successfully rescued over 200 elephants and thousands of other animals, reptiles, and birds from unsafe situations. It has undertaken initiatives in key species including rhino, leopard, and crocodile rehabilitation.

Zuckerberg co-founded the social media service Facebook, and its parent company Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook, Inc), of which he is executive chairman, chief executive officer, and controlling shareholder. He and Chan received a warm welcome earlier this week at the Jamnagar airport with white garlands and a traditional dance performance as they arrived for the pre-wedding functions.

The grand three-day pre-wedding celebrations, which began on Friday, are being held at a residential township situated close to RIL’s petroleum refinery near Jamnagar city. Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant got engaged in January 2023.

Among the celebrities who attended the lavish celebrations are top Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, cricketers, sports stars, heads of states, and business tycoons from India and abroad.

Pop icon Rihanna performed live for the guests on Friday evening, delivering some of her greatest hits.
