Mumbai: Days after Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray slammed Prashant Bhushan for his Kashmir referendum comments, Uddhav Thackeray too voiced his anger against the lawyer in some strong words.
Uddhav justified the attack on the lawyer carried out by three youths.
He said, "Prashant Bhushan should've been beaten up with Chappals for saying what he said. If he says something like this, what else would these youth do? I support the youth fully."
Uddhav made the comments while addressing the first anniversary event of Shiv Sena's youth wing, the Yuva Sena.
To everyone's surprise, the celebrations at the event included performances on popular item numbers from Marathi and Hindi movies.
It was definitely a departure from the Yuva Sena's projection of itself as custodians of Indian culture, carrying out protests and targeting couples on Valentine's Day.
In 2009, the group also severely criticised the movie 'Girlfriend', claiming that the theme was against Indian culture.
