New Delhi: Congress sources said on Wednesday that there will be no rollback on FDI in multi-brand retail, however adding that a rollback on the diesel price hike and the cap on subsidised LPG cylinders could not be completely ruled out.
The sources said that Finance Minister P Chidambaram made it clear during the Congress Core Group meet on Wednesday that there would be no rollback on FDI in retail.
The sources added that the Congress had kept a channel of communication open with Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee although they did not expect her to communicate with them. However, TMC leader Mukul Roy denied receiving any message from the Congress.
"I have not got any message from anybody regarding anything," said Roy. "The TMC will stick to its election manifesto. We will stick to the decision of the party leadership," he added.
Kunal Ghosh too said that there had been no communication from the Congress to the TMC. "Sorry. Some wrong information in some media. No communication from Congress to TMC," Ghosh tweeted, adding, "The TMC cleared their stand and will be with the people."
