Arunachal Pradesh Speaker Nabam Rebia has said it will not be possible to convene a session of the Assembly for the trust vote on Saturday at such a short notice.
This was shortly after acting Governor Tathagata Roy turned down Chief Minister Nabam Tuki's request for more time to convene.
"Assembly session has been called by Governor on Saturday but most of our MLAs are out of station, we have requested some more time to prove majority," Tuki told CNN-News18.
Immediately after the SC verdict on Thursday quashing President's rule in the state, acting Governor Tathagata Roy asked Nabam Tuki to prove his majority on the floor of the House by July 16.
Tuki currently has only 15 MLAs with him as 43 MLAs were paraded by rebel Congressmen and former CM Kalikho Pul in a show of strength during a press conference in Guwahati.
In a house of 60, BJP claims the support of 43 MLAs.
