Pranab praises Mamata for handling AMRI tragedy
Mamata Banerjee hit back at her detractors and ruled out quitting over the AMRI hospital fire incident.

New Delhi: It's been 48 hours since a major fire broke out at AMRI hospital leaving 88 people dead, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has ordered a judicial inquiry into the tragedy. On Saturday, she hit back at her detractors and ruled out quitting over the incident.

Mamata Said she will ensure that the guilty are punished. Infact, Mamata drew praise from none other than Congress Leader Pranab Mukherjee himself for the way she handled the crisis. But there were no bouquets only brickbats outside the hospital on Saturday, as angry locals hurled stones and broke windows.

They forced their way into the barricaded building, claiming that there were many more bodies lying inside.

"As you know the tragedy, nobody can prevent the tragedy like this. But the way the chief minister has handled the tragedy, consoled the people with adept, courage and fortitude, we simply appreciate that," Mukherjee said.
