Apple patents new material that could make future iDevices look more beautiful
The special composite material looks like anodized metal, but still allows for reception of signals.

New Delhi: In a bid to make its products appear neater, Apple has patented for a material that hides the antenna lines on a device. Whether we accept or not, the antenna lines visible on its latest iPhone 6 are quite an eyesore and disrupt the otherwise flawless designing of the product.

The patent is for a special composite material that looks like anodized metal and can be part of an enclosure in an electronic device, without interfering with the functioning of some electronic components such as RF antennas, touch pads and touch screens.

A report on Engadget notes that the innovative material could be used for building computers or tablets, or to blend other surfaces into a device like a trackpad on a laptop.

While patents are no guarantee of the technology to actually be implemented into future devices, it nonetheless points to a future where we may get to see Apple gadgets using the new material to incorporate wireless technology without compromising on the outer design.
