New Delhi: LG Electronics has launched its new smartphone - the LG Max - in India. The phone is the successor to the last year's L Bello smartphone and features a larger display and a better camera.

Priced at Rs 10,990, the G G Max features a 5-inch display, 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. "The LG Max comes with LG’s proprietary features like Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash (carried over from the G Series) that make it easy to snap great selfies," says LG.

Gesture Shot enables users to take selfies without pressing any buttons by simply opening and closing the palm in front of the camera. And Selfie Flash turns the phone’s display into a soft flash for portraits that are more subtle and refined.

At its heart is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1 GB of RAM. The phone has an internal memory of 8GB and it also supports a microSD card for additional storage. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and is packed with a 2,540mAh replaceable battery.

The LG Max will be available in three colours - White, Titan, and Gold.
