Samsung has launched the Galaxy A8+ as its mid-segment smartphone to compete with the likes of OnePlus 5T, Nokia 8 and others. The new Galaxy A8+ (2018) boasts of an Infinity Display, just like the one seen on Samsung's once flagship, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Samsung has announced a Rs 32,999 price tag for the Galaxy A8+ and the smartphone will be available for purchase starting January 20, exclusively on Amazon. Surprisingly, the price of the smartphone comes south of what was expected earlier, judging from its pricing in Vietnam.
Samsung Galaxy A8+ Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A8+ features a 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and a Galaxy S8-like Infinity Display, carrying 2220x1080 pixel resolution. The smartphone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is powered by an octa-core processor. Two of these eight cores are clocked at 2.2GHz while the rest six cores are clocked at 1.6GHz. The Galaxy A8+ comes with 6GB RAM along with a 64GB internal storage, expandable up to 256GB.
As for optics, the Samsung Galaxy A8+ carries a 16-megapixel (f/1.7) camera at the back with Video Digital image stabilisation (VDis) technology. At the front, the device sports a dual camera setup, with a 16-megapixel fixed focus sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor for Bokeh effects, both with f/1.9 aperture. In addition, the smartphone comes with a pre-installed Live Focus feature which allows users to adjust the Bokeh effect on images after the self-portraits are clicked.
Tha Galaxy A8+ is backed by a 3500 mAh battery that also supports fast-charging. Connectivity options on the Galaxy A8+ include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Galaxy A8+ comes with a fingerprint sensor and an IP68-certified water and dust resistance, in addition to Samsung Pay integration and Samsung Gear VR support. The 191 grams smartphone measures 159.9x75.7x8.3mm.

Samsung Galaxy A8+ will be available in three colour variants, at a price of Rs 32,999, exclusively on Amazon in India starting January 20, 2018.
