Bajaj Finance Employee Dies by Suicide After Bosses Allegedly Force Him to Pay for EMIs: 'Not Slept For 45 Days'
UP: In his suicide note, the Bajaj Finance manager revealed that he hadn’t slept for 45 days due to work pressure and had lost his ability to think.

A 42-year-old manager working for a finance company has tragically died by suicide at his residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi. Tarun Saxena, who had worked for Bajaj Finance for around eight years, left behind a suicide note addressed to his wife. In the note, Saxena revealed that he had been under immense stress due to pressure from his bosses, who were allegedly pushing him to either meet his targets or call it quits. As of now, the family has not filed an FIR, and Bajaj Finance has yet to respond to the allegations.

House Help Found The Body

Saxena, who is survived by his parents, wife Megha, and children Yatharth and Pihu, was found hanging by the house help. He had locked his wife and two children in a different room before taking his life.

The house help immediately informed Saxena’s cousin, Gaurav Saxena, about the incident. Gaurav, who lives nearby, rushed to Tarun’s home and unlocked the door to the room where he locked his wife and children before ending his life. The police were also informed of the tragic incident.

“Tarun Saxena was my elder cousin. He worked as an area manager at Bajaj Finance. The company had been pressuring him to bring in more collections from the market. When he failed to meet the targets, his salary was deducted. As we learnt earlier this morning around 6:00 am, Vaibhav Saxena and Prabhakar Mishra, who are based in Bhopal, held a conference with him and instigated him, following which he died by suicide,” India Today quoted Gaurav as saying.

Tarun Saxena, Bajaj Finance Manager’s Suicide: What Did the Note Reveal?

According to NDTV, Saxena in his suicide note mentioned that he and his colleagues were made to pay for the EMIs they could not recover from their area.

“I am very tense about the future. I have lost my ability to think. I am going…. I have not slept for 45 days. I have hardly eaten. I am under a lot of stress. Senior managers are pressuring me to meet targets at any cost or quit,” Saxena wrote in his suicide note, reported NDTV.

Tarun, who gave birth to two children, paid their school fees for the entire year before taking this tragic step. “You all take care of Megha, Yatharth and Pihu. Mummy, Papa, I have never asked for anything, but am doing so now. Please get the second floor built so that my family can stay comfortably,” the suicide note reads.

The outlet further reported that Saxena, in his five-page note, urged his children to study hard and take care of their mother. He also instructed his relatives to help his family in receiving the insurance money.

In the note provided to the police, Saxena named his seniors and stated, “They are responsible for my decision.” He additionally requested that his family file a police complaint against those he had mentioned.

Family Yet To File An FIR

Jhansi’s Superintendent of Police, Gyanendra Kumar, stated that Tarun died by suicide by hanging himself with a scarf.

“A suicide note was found, in which the dead accused his superiors of harassment, pressuring him to meet high recovery targets. If a complaint is lodged by the family, further investigation will be initiated,” India Today quoted Kumar as saying.
