Nobody can beat Indians at jugaad, which is a universally accepted fact. This Hindi term, which has even made it into the Oxford Dictionary, refers to “the use of skill and imagination to find an easy solution to a problem or to fix or make something using inexpensive, basic items.” Jugaad is frequently cited as a symbol of the Indian spirit of resourcefulness and entrepreneurship. Occasionally, we come across people creating something original and practical out of extremely basic facilities.
An Ola electric scooter was a key factor in a pre-wedding celebration recently in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra. The Ola Electric CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, also expressed his opinions, encouraging the notion of coming up with more inventive solutions, after the video of this incident went viral on social media. The video was shared by Instagram user Saurav Rokade which is trending now.
In the now-viral video, as the bride prepared to dance, everyone gathered and took their seats. However, it all came to a halt when cops asked the organisers to stop playing music, resulting in an interruption to the event but not in spirit. Then, Saurav Rokade’s friend had a clever idea. He considered using his Ola Scooter to play music. He connected the Ola S1 Pro, which has Bluetooth and speakers, to the unit and began playing music. It was a straightforward and intelligent solution. And now, this simple and ‘jugaad’ solution is gaining popularity on social media.

The bride’s “wish was finally fulfilled to dance at her wedding,” as mentioned in Saurav Rokade’s caption. He also mentioned that it was only achieved with the help of the Ola Scooter.
This viral video even surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), where Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal reacted to it by saying – “Keep the creativity going”.
“4 baj gaye lekin party abhi bhi baaki hai! Haha.! Love how Ola scooters have become a part of our community celebrations across India! Way to go community, keep the creativity going!” Ola CEO Aggarwal wrote.

Users on social media were equally amazed. A user wrote, “Desi jugaad meets music magic on Ola scooters”. Another commented, “Move over, DJ stereos – Ola’s got the dance floor covered”. A user said, “Their music system turning commutes into dance floors”, while a social media buff mentioned, “Ola, setting the functions alive with desi beats.”
