Do You Know The Hidden Meaning Behind The Iconic Coca Cola Logo?
The coca cola sign may look like just a creative set of letters, but it is way more than that.

Coca Cola is arguably the leading soft drink brand in the world, with people across the globe enjoying the soda for decades now. Since its inception, the drink has been introduced in a number of variants to cater to all types of people. But the manufacturers made sure to keep the aesthetic of its iconic logo intact, which is believed to have a hidden meaning behind it. As per reports, coca cola launched several flavours to the market, which includes the diet coke, coke zero and other limited edition flavours. Despite tweaking the logo to fit the new launches, the company has retained its uniqueness.

The coca cola sign may look like just a creative set of letters to make the brand appear more attractive, but it is way more than that. The signature elongated tail of the ‘C’ in cola is believed to be a smile, which highlights the company’s aim to deliver happiness and smiles on the faces of their consumers.

According to Richard Lau, the president of Logo.com, “This subtle message may go unnoticed, but it subconsciously creates a positive association with the brand in the minds of consumers.” The official website of the company delves more into the history of the drink and how it came to be.

The recipe of the beverage is from the mind of Dr John S Pemberton, who was a pharmacist from Atalanta, Georgia. The drink, a combination of Pemberton’s concoction and carbonated water, started to be called ‘delicious and refreshing,’ soon after. The website recounts that Dr Pemberton “carried a jug of the new product down the street to Jacobs’ Pharmacy in Atlanta.” It was then sampled at the place and earned an “excellent” remark. After that, the drink was sold as a soda fountain drink for five cents a glass. The term “Coca Cola” was suggested by his bookkeeper, Frank M Robinson. He thought the two Cs were good for advertisement, added the website.
