Man's Take on Marrying an Uneducated, Non-working Woman Sparks Backlash: 'Such a Fool'
Viral Post: Man's take on working woman being a 'big red flag' ignites heated discussion online.

In this day and age, it’s surprising that some guys seem stuck in the past when men ruled the roost and women had no say. Take, for instance, a recent incident where a man shared on ‘X’ his belief that marrying an educated, working woman is a huge mistake. Well, that set off a lively online discussion, with folks jumping in to challenge his views.

It all started with the man from Surat, Vijay Marathe, who posted on ‘X’: “Marrying highly educated working women will be one of the worst decision u will ever make in your life. Big red flag.” And before you know it, his post blew up, racking up over four million views. People started calling him out, slamming his opinions as outdated and unfair to women. They stressed the importance of gender equality and women’s right to chase their dreams without being judged.

Here’s the Viral Post:

“I guess you are looking for a ‘Daasi’ and not a wife! Your slip is showing,” commented one person. Another chimed in, “You don’t have to worry about it because no highly educated woman will even consider you for a second.”

Then came the defenders of educated women, pointing out the benefits of marrying someone smart and ambitious. They argued that only someone insecure would see it as a problem.

“Marrying a highly educated women means you are marrying somebody you can have intellectual conversations with, somebody who will support you & help reach your goals and it also ensures a double income household. Only a fool with a fragile male ego will deem it a red flag,” one supporter wrote. Another added, “Marrying a highly educated women means a friend for life who understands your goals , who will be a role model for your childrens, and have a better understanding of changing dynamics of society.”

And of course, there’s always a blunt response: “Yes please don’t. She ain’t your cup of tea. She deserves secure man.”

Think about it, can we consider ourselves modern and inclusive if such attitudes persist in our society?

What's your reaction?
