No matter what time of the year it is, the best thing a child can wear is confidence. Healthy self-confidence in children and teens boosts their self-esteem, which in turn breeds success and less emotional difficulties. Like this four-year-old girl who had the perfect self-confidence to respond to a boy who didn’t like her pretty cool hair style. Originally shared on TikTok, the video of a preschool girl named Leila Danai is doing the rounds on the internet and is making viewers go awed with her million-dollar smile.

What makes this video truly amazing is how this little munchkin courageously confronted her bullies. Leila Danai is one of the only black kids in her school, and her mother, Mildred Munjanganja, prepared her beforehand for the comments people might make about her hair. Despite her tender age, she was smart enough to understand and handle the situation with quite a sassy reply.

In the now-viral clip shared by TODAY.com, a mother records her daughter as the toddler recalls her day at preschool. She can be heard saying to her mother about an incident where a classmate told her that he “didn’t like” her hairstyle. We bet the four-year-old girl’s incredibly confident reply will win your heart. Leila did not get upset, rather she defended herself beautifully and replied, “Owen didn’t like my hair, but I said, ‘I like it!”

Yes, you read it right! At this age, when kids cry or get angry at such comments, Leila Danai was so calm and composed to give such a positive reply. Continuing further, Leila said that her classmate reiterated that he doesn’t like that hair. He even called it ‘crazy’.

But, Leila responded, “My mommy made it. And if you don’t like it, I’ll keep it for myself.”

Saying this, Leila flashes a megawatt smile to her mom. Hearing her kid’s poised act, Munjanganja exclaimed, “Oh, baby! I’m so proud of you. You stood up for yourself. That’s what matters. What matters is that you like it — it’s your hair.”

Sharing the video on TikTok, Munjanganja wrote, “I am glad she didn’t need anyone’s validation to feel complete. She knew she loved her hairstyle, and that’s what mattered,” reported the portal.

Leila agreed with her mother, she nodded and gave an infectious smile, leaving a lasting impression on viewers’ hearts. Needless to say, the video gained popularity in no time, amassing 490k views, inspiring many, and bringing smiles to thousands of faces.

While speaking to the portal, Leila’s mother Munjanganja stated that self-confidence begins at home. Explaining this with an example, Munjanganja said, “She’ll inquire Leila for her opinion on an outfit. Sometimes she will say that she doesn’t like the colour, and then I will back with, ‘Well, I love it, and I think it looks great on me.’ I am trying to reach her that you don’t have to internalize the opinions of others. And I am ecstatic that our conversations are really sinking in.”
