'Stunning Work': BTS ARMY Lauds Artist For Creating RM’s Portrait On Wooden Canvas

South Korean boyband BTS enjoys a global fandom. Comprising seven members – Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, SUGA, and RM, the group has captured millions of hearts worldwide. The BTS ARMY, their dedicated fanbase, not only celebrates the members’ birthdays globally but also engages in charitable acts in the name of the group. In fact, the artistic sphere is also touched by the magic of BTS. Walking along a similar vein, an artist recently displayed his admiration for BTS leader Kim Namjoon, better known as RM by carving a stunning portrait of the singer on a wooden canvas.

The carved portrait of RM was shared by artist Han Young Joon who shared his work on Instagram, grabbing many eyeballs. “Carving artwork in progress. Namjoon RM BTS. Acrylic painting art artist BTSfanart,” read the caption. The video captured the illustrator working on RM’s picture with a sharp carving tool. The vibrant colour play on the wooden canvas in the shades of blue, yellow, red, pink, green, and orange offered a visually delightful image of the BTS member. The portrait is a testament to the artist’s excellent craftsmanship and hard work.

With incredible accuracy, the BTS leader’s personality is captured in every stroke of the carving tool, giving the wooden canvas life. From the intensity of RM’s gaze to the minute details of his countenance, and the singer’s structured facial features, the eye to detail in the artistic representation is astounding. The artist carefully draws thin lines on the wooden platform, taking out the extra colour, and leaving behind a wonderful portrait. By the end of the video, he lets the small and colourful wooden chunks on the canvas surrounding the image create an aesthetic appeal.

As soon as the video surfaced on the internet, the masses were quick to heap praise on the artwork. “What an excellent combination of colours, and the shapes of the coloured fragments and their location perfectly emphasize Namjoon’s unique features,” commented one impressed user.
