If you’re an avid social media user, then there are high chances that you must’ve stumbled upon videos of people making creative presentations out of edible products. But this Instagram user took his creativity to a whole new level as he created an unusual music instrument, a flute with a carrot. Yes, you read that right. Well that’s not the only surprising part, the flute works too. This video of the digital creator has captivated the audience and the internet is amazed.
Taking to Instagram, digital creator Ethan Tyler Smith shared his video of making a ‘Carrot-Flute’. He captioned the clip, “Making Instruments out of EVERY Vegetable. Not sure if you want to purchase an instrument but want to try it out?”
In the video, the digital creator gave a tutorial on how to make a recorder (kind of flute with a whistle mouthpiece) out of a carrot. First, he took an orange carrot and began by chopping the head of the carrot and peeling off the skin. Next, he made a strong hole inside the carrot using a drilling machine. Then he thoroughly washed the carrot to remove any remaining tiny particles from it and then pat it dry.
Next, for the whistle, with the help of a knife he carefully made a cut on the carrot until one-third of the hole is covered by the knife. Then he gently cut the carrot in a 45-degree angle to meet the same line. He then chops off the other end of the carrot in a way that the small piece perfectly fits into the tip.
With the help of a screw he makes a few holes on it to give it a shape like a flute. And it’s ready. He then blew air in the flute and it worked.

Soon after the video was shared online, it went viral on social media and several users shared their reactions. A user commented, “This is such a bizarre and impressive intersection of talents lol.” Another mentioned, “Turn a watermelon into a drum.” A user wrote, “The music teacher: What instrument do you play, Me: The Carrot.” The video has gathered 5.8 million views since it was shared online.
