The Election Commission of India declared the results for 543 Lok Sabha constituencies on Tuesday, June 4. As per the final tally that came out on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to form the government for a third consecutive term with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) getting a majority in the Lok Sabha. BJP won 240 seats, falling short of the 272 majority mark. With support from key allies N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), which won 16 and 12 seats in Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, respectively, and other alliance partners, the NDA crossed the halfway mark.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Sudarsan Pattnaik has paid tribute to PM Narendra Modi. Last year, he made a sand sculpture on the occasion of PM Modi’s 73rd birthday.
Sharing a photo of this artwork, the Puri-based artist wrote, “Wishing Our beloved Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji on his birthday. May Lord Vishwakarma bless him and give him a long and healthy life to serve Bharat Mata. I’ve created a SandArt with the installation of 50 Konarak wheels with the message Happy Birthday Modi Ji at Puri beach, Odisha.” This post got over 2.7 lakh likes.

In January, Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand art piece at Delhi’s Red Fort to commemorate the 127th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Speaking to PTI, the Padma Shri awardee said that when Narendra Modi appreciated his artwork. He said, “It was a great honour for me. PM Narendra Modi ji visited and appreciated my sand art of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Parakram Diwas at Red Fort, Delhi. It was a gracious moment to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and be appreciated by him. He added, “The PM said Jai Jagannath as we met.”
Over the years, Sudarsan Pattnaik has won a number of prestigious awards. In 2019, he became the first Indian to win the Italian Sand Art Award held in Lecce, Italy. In February 2017, he broke the Guinness world record for making the world’s largest sand castle.
