The same day, Monroe posted on Facebook from her business page, saying, “Bonus if you buy cookies today." “My diamond is missing… My heart is beyond broken. It’s been on my hand for 36 years."

The baker said, “If you happened to find it, I would forever be in debt if you would return it."

Monroe told ABC affiliate KMBC that the diamond dropped into a batch of chocolate chip, sugar, or peanut butter cookies.

“I was crying, and all [my husband] could say was, ‘You still have me,’ so that made it all better," Monroe said.

The baker wrote regarding the lost stone not just to ask for help, but also to suggest customers be cautious while nibbling into her sweets.

“Mainly cause I didn’t want anybody to break a tooth," Monroe told the news outlet.

Monroe assured everyone that she “would definitely make it worth your while bringing it back" if they were to discover the diamond.

It is fairly normal to misplace or lose rings, or any other jewellery piece. However, some pieces are more than merely decorative accents; rather, they are connected to a particular person or situation and have a very meaningful position in life. However, how far will you go to get it back if you lose it? News18 reported an incident that happened last year wherein a US woman lost a ring that was inadvertently tossed out in the garbage.

Dennis Senibaldi, the director of Windham Department of Public Works, reportedly received a phone call from a town selectman putting him in contact with the resident. The ring was found and given to the woman because of the prompt response and hard work of the local sanitation staff.

But what really set this episode apart was not calling the authorities; rather, it was the fact that the sanitation staff had to go through 20 tonnes of garbage or around 18,100 kilogrammes.

According to the report, Dennis was certain that she could locate it since he has dealt with instances similar to hers in the past. Dennis told them where the trash may have gone after they got the search underway. Thanks to backdrop data and an effective camera, the ring was found amidst twenty tonnes of trash. It had torn out of its rubbish bag and was half smeared in red paint when it was found on the floor. Within two hours of the search beginning, the ring was located.
